Awesome Theatre

Awesome Theatre is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Arts Organization based in San Francisco, Ca. We are dedicated to producing new, relevant, stylized, theatrical, live multimedia entertainment that appeals to people who never thought they’d like theatre. (Or that they’d feel welcome.) But also to be a breath of fresh air to even the most regular theatre-goer. We strive to create work that is fun, accessible, creative, unique, and knowing without being pretentious. We are committed to creating opportunities for emerging artists and exclusively producing new plays by local writers. Every artist we work with is encouraged to be creative, try different things, and be weird. Our goal at Awesome Theatre is to create a lasting and original adventure for every audience member and collaborator, a shared escapade of escapist entertainment.

Coming In October

Killing My Lobster

Killing My Lobster is San Francisco's premiere sketch comedy theatre company. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, they have been producing fast, smart, fearless, and inclusive sketch comedy that boldly tests the limits of what sketch can be since 1997. They also teach classes for adults in comedy writing and acting, as well as providing unique skillbuilding and team workshops for professionals and young artists.

Eclectic Emerging

Eclectic Box's aim is to be home to a variety of performers and troupes as well as welcoming emerging artists and groups.

One of the largest hurdles for upcoming artists is obtaining funding for a project and theatre rental cost. In order to alleviate roadblocks and to help foster a creative community, Eclectic Box will offer discounted rates to emerging artists who meet the criteria. An artist or group selected for the Eclectic Emerging program will also have access to mentoring opportunities as they arise and the support of Eclectic Box's board and staff.

Decisions will be made on a case by case basis and we will be using the metric listed below. The artist or group applying for this program must meet at least two of the criteria to be eligible for consideration. Please note that applying does not guarantee a spot. We would love to be able to include everyone who needs this into the program but unfortunately space is limited.

If you are interested in applying, please send us an email with some info about you and/or your company.
